I used Dr Sihra at Wimbledon Dental Care as my dentist for checkups and hygiene treatments for around 3 years and based on my experience would not recommend him to others. While the practice and Dr Sihra do a passable job at general dentistry, my main qualm with Sihra is that he paid very superficial attention to my needs as a patient and generally seems motivated by money rather than clinical excellence or patient care. In my case, signs of this included: *Poor and expensive hygiene treatments (he would do 15 minutes with a little scaling and absolutely no polishing for around 50 pounds). The going rate everywhere else is around 50 pounds for a 30 minute full treatment. *Rough handling. I was always a little surprised by how rough Sihra was when he was poking around my mouth. I do understand that he has to access my teeth, but he would literally push and pull around in such a rush that my mouth felt like it had been stretched after I left our appointments. My girlfriend tried Sihra a few times and felt the same way. *Lack of transparency on billing (after one of our 15 minute hygiene visits, I found he had billed me an extra 50 pounds for a dental checkup that he supposedly carried out within 2 minutes). Pity I was never advised of this service ahead of time. *Refusal to issue reference for patient care: when I asked for him to issue me a reference for an external hygienist as part of a routine checkup, Sihra categorically refused to do so and rudely suggested that I “go somewhere else”. According to Sihra, it wasn’t “worth his time” to do so. *Unavailability: although perhaps understandable given that Wimbledon Dental Care is a one-man show, Dr Sihra would occasionally take extended holidays of multiple weeks, leaving the practice totally unmanned for extensive periods of time. Within Wimbledon, Dental Rooms (a little more expensive) or Wimbledon Dental Studio (cheaper and better) are both good alternatives.
