About Richmond Road Dental Practice
We are one of the longest established dental practices in Kingston with a well deserved reputation for very high standards of care and technical expertise as well as a friendly family atmosphere. The Practice has been open at 206 Richmond Road since the 1950s and John Carter has been there since 1977.
We have long serving staff with receptionists, nurses and associate dentists staying for very many years. Our current pool has staff with 23, 10, 7, 6 and one year’s service so you will always be welcomed by a friendly face with a vast experience of dentistry and the unique knowledge of what actually works as well as the latest science and techniques. Our team of two qualified dental nurses and our receptionist /practice manager have some 70 years of experience in dentistry between them and if they don’t know the answer to any query about your treatment they know someone who does!
We have a unique surgery set up where each dentist has access to two surgeries. This has two main benefits for patients. It helps keep our costs down and therefore our prices, as it maximise's the use of the dentist’s time, and secondly it allows us to fit in same day emergencies.
We are keen to accommodate requests for emergencies and to assist in scheduling we recommend patients contact us at the start of the day.
All four surgeries at the practice are equipped to the highest standards to enable us to deliver quality care and modern treatments. Our cross infection routines are stringent and we adhere to all the latest recommended guidelines and protocols for patient care.
We are proud to know that we have more children on our list per dentist than anyone else locally and remain a genuine family practice caring for patients from 0 to 94 at the same time as being able to offer the most advanced and sophisticated techniques required by our patients.
We have considerable experience with nervous patients probably increased by the large number of children we see and those patients with special needs young and old with whose dental care we have been entrusted. We understand dentistry holds deep anxieties for many people and work hard with our patients to help them overcome their fears and be able to accept routine dental treatment.
Since 1990 we have offered private care to adults and NHS care to children. We aim to make dental care affordable without compromising our high standards, and through the efficiency of our twin surgeries manage to keep our fees modestly below the average for the area, whilst providing a quality of treatment and service that we feel is among the best available. We have always had a very clear pricing structure with a set price for every item of treatment. Very occasionally we may vary these when treatments take significantly more (or less) time than usual. We aim to make it clear to patients from the outset the likely cost of their treatment.
We accept payment by cash cheque credit or debit card. Our payment terms require payment before appointments can be made in order to reserve the surgery time. This helps to keep costs and prices down by reducing administration and the number of failed appointments.
