About Wendy Fildes

Hello my name is Wendy Fildes and I was a founding partner of Stricklandgate Dental Practice. I have been involved in the growth and development of the practice since it first opened in 1983. Now as an Associate of our new Principal – Satya Patel, I look forward to the future knowing that the practice is in safe hands and we will continue to care for our patients in a friendly and caring environment. Originally from Bolton in Lancashire, I visited this area for family holidays and feel privileged to have been able to settle, work and bring up my family in such a beautiful and friendly part of Cumbria. I have a gentle caring approach to all aspects of dentistry and I try to make treatment as relaxing as possible with the best possible outcome. I have a particular interest in orthodontics. I have completed postgraduate training in advanced techniques at the Manchester Dental Hospital and a 2year advanced course in Orthodontics for general practitioners at Newcastle Dental Hospital. I regularly attend postgraduate courses in order to stay abreast of current advancements within the field of dentistry. Away from work, I enjoy gardening and also walking in the beautiful surrounding countryside. Music is important to me, both in appreciation and participating. I play the piano and enjoy choral singing as a member of Penrith Singers over the last 23 years. I also enjoy cooking, knitting and embroidery.
