About Sarah Burns
Sarah qualified with honours in 1985 from University College Hospital Dental School, London. She then worked as House Officer in General Dentistry at University College Hospital Dental School. In 1986, Sarah travelled to the United States to further her studies and left the University of Maryland with a Certificate in Advanced General Dentistry in June 1987.
On her return to England she worked at a number of hospitals as Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery including the Eastman Dental Hospital, London. During this period Sarah gained her Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1991.
Sarah began her specialist training in Orthodontics in 1992 at Guy’s Hospital, London and the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading. During this time she was a visiting lecturer on the Speech Therapy course at the University of Reading. Following three years of postgraduate study she gained a Master of Science in Orthodontics from the University of London in June 1994 and her Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in June 1995.
Sarah regularly treats both children and adults using traditional metal, ceramic, (tooth coloured) removable and fixed braces. In addition, Sarah became certified to use the Invisalign Orthodontic system in May 2003. This type of brace allows movement of teeth using a series of invisible braces worn by the patient on a daily basis.
Sarah is fully qualified to administer Botox® for the reduction of facial wrinkles in the upper face and to use Restylane®, a dermal filler, for the reduction of facial lines by restoring lost volume in the lower half of the face and to increase lip fullness.
Sarah lives in Richmond, Surrey and divides her time between her two young children and her specialist orthodontic practice in Harley Street, Notting Hill, Wembley, Marlow and Specialist Dental at Guildford.
