About Richard Smith

Richard qualified from Bristol University in 1975 and established Bridgeways in 1982 as a family orientated general practice. In 1990 the practice was the first in Totton to offer private only care and Richard’s area of particular interest was holistic dentistry (how the teeth and jaws affect and interrelate with the body as a whole). As a result of his interests in oral medicine and toxicology, the practice became “mercury free” in 1996 and continues to be so. Sadly, his clinical career ended at the end of 2012 due to medical reasons but continues to own, help to manage and develop the practice to ensure it stays at the forefront of providing excellent dental care. Any spare time is devoted to his grandchildren, fishing, gardening and his other passion-excellent food!
