After training jobs at the Eastman, The Royal London, King’s, the Mayday and St. George’s Hospitals he was appointed an NHS Consultant in 1995. He was Clinical Director of the Maxillo-Facial & Dental Unit at St. George’s from 1997-2011. He has been involved in the publication of over 40 papers that mostly relate to clinical outcome and innovative techniques. In the past he has been Chair of the South London Specialist Training Committee (STC), and has examined for the Royal College of Surgeons and King’s College London. He is currently Chair for the Specialist Training Committee (STC) and Training Programme Director (TPD) for Restorative Dentistry in London. In 2000 he was awarded a certificate in teaching and is still heavily involved in the post-graduate teaching of Specialist Registrars, DF2s, Clinical Assistants, GDPs and DSAs.
His clinical interests include: Surgical and Restorative Implantology, Endodontics and simplifying the management of Tooth Wear. In 2004 he set up a specialist referral practice in Farningham, NW Kent which is managed by his wife Karen, who also qualified from Kings as a dental surgeon in 1983.
For over 18 years he has received instructions from the dental protection agencies, and other legal teams, to provide independent dento-legal opinions.
Away from work he enjoys supporting his three sons on the rugby pitch, walking, skiing (whilst the knees bear up!) and spending time in the West Country and Lake District.
