About Nick French
Nicholas (or Nick to his friends) grew up here in Newbury, Berkshire, attending Speenhamland, then Kennet schools. He served an apprenticeship with the large Newbury based dental laboratory Broughton and Tyrell, gaining a B-Tec Diploma to qualify as a Dental Technician in 1987. He then left the UK to travel and spent a year in Australia.
When Nick French returned to the UK he was offered a training position at the world-renowned Maxillo-Facial prosthetic department at Queen Mary’s University Hospital, Roehampton in London. Whilst in the department he made oral and facial prostheses for people who had undergone surgery for oral and/or facial cancer or trauma. During this time Nicholas gained his Higher National Diploma in Maxillo-Facial Prosthetics and Technology.
He then spent a year at the Waikato Hospital in Hamilton, New Zealand and on his return to the UK was appointed Chief Maxillo-Facial Technologist at St Richards Hospital in Chichester. He worked successfully here for three years until he was offered a place at the University of Western Australia Dental School, qualifying as a Dental Surgeon in 1999.
On returning to England in 2001 Nick, worked in a dental practice in Chichester, before joining The Briars Dental Centre in 2006 as a dentist Newbury, becoming a partner in early 2007.
Nick always warmly welcomes new patients to his general dental practice either as part of our membership scheme in conjunction with our partners at Denplan, or on a pay as you go basis.
Nick has a special interest in Implant supported crowns, bridges and dentures which he has been carrying out for many years and is a member of The Association of Dental Implantology UK. He also has extensive experience in cosmetic and restorative dentstry.
