I qualified at Guy’s Hospital in 1978, where I completed a House job and then moved to an Associate position in Kendal. I purchased a practice in Nelson in partnership with my wife in 1981. I have held two posts as a clinical assistant in Oral Surgery. I am currently Associate Dental Dean for Workforce Development for Cumbria and Lancashire in the NW Deanery and also a member of NHS East Lancashire (PCT) Professional Executive Committee with portfolio for Clinical Governance and Patient Safety. The practice has clinical placements for dental therapy students training with Liverpool University for which I am an Honorary Tutor.
I have been involved with ‘Mercy Ships’ (see www.mercyships.org.uk) dental outreaches in West Africa since 1994.
Interests include mountaineering, cycling (tandem), kayaking, church and family!
