About Martyn Cox

Dr Martyn Cox was born & raised in Devizes and studied cell biology and Immunology gaining his BSc (Honours) degree, before embarking on his PhD thesis at Bristol University into the molecular biology of virus infections and human oral cancer research. Dr Cox has been awarded numerous research prizes in the UK, and has published widely in both UK and international peer-reviewed journals including several Oral Cancer textbooks and has lectured on Oral Cancer and Human Papilloma virus genetics both in the UK, Europe and the USA. After qualifying as a Dental Surgeon in 1991, Dr Cox became a partner in a 5 practice partnership in Wiltshire, before establishing Ferndale Dental Clinic in Devizes. Dr Cox also studied advanced prosthetic & restorative dentistry to Diploma level at Bristol University from 2003 to 2005. Over the past 20 years, Dr Cox has developed a special interest in Oral Surgery carrying out surgical placements in IV-sedation at RAF Wroughton & Royal United Hospital Bath, and has trained in advanced Dental Implant (including guided bone regeneration & sinus lift techniques) & Cosmetic Dentistry in America, Europe and Harley Street, London, and has been placing and restoring Bicon & Implantium Implants since 2005. Dr Cox believes strongly in developing a personal relationship with his own patients and since all advanced Implant & cosmetic treatments are carried out 'in house', his patients receive co-ordinated dental treatment specific to them.
