About Lynda Allman

My name is Lynda Allman and it is my privilege to lead the team here at Acomb Dental Care. I qualified in Dentistry in 1987 from Edinburgh University. After spending the first years of my career in Dental Hospital positions and training in Maxillofacial Surgery, I came to General Practice here in York, taking over at Acomb in 1997. I feel enormously lucky to be in a career that I love, to work with a great team of dedicated individuals and to have such wonderful patients, many of whom have been coming to us for years. My main area of interest is cosmetic dentistry. The best part of my job is seeing how transforming someone’s smile can have such a positive effect on their lives. I am always learning and developing my skills to keep up-to-date in this exciting field. There is always something new to learn. Away from work, family life with my husband and two children keep me busy. I love cooking for everyone, enjoy gardening and, given the chance, would happily live in a ski resort!
