About Ian Redfearn

Ian has worked at Dentistry For All (www.dentistry4all.com) since 1991, becoming a partner in 2003. He has been a VT trainer on numerous occasions. He is committed to continued professional development and I gained a DPDS (Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies) in 2005. He is trained in I.V. sedation and relative analgesia, and has developed an interest in orthodontics, and has also developed his skills in cosmetic treatments including tooth whitening and veneers, for which he has attended numerous postgraduate courses. He has been involved with ‘Mercy Ships’ dental outreaches (www.mercyships.org.uk) in West Africa and Lithuania and has worked with Bridge2Aid (www.bridge2aid.org) in Tanzania. As the Dental Practice Advisor to NHS East Lancashire, Ian has pioneered several innovative programs to support practitioners in improving standards in primary dental care and complying with Clinical Governance requirements. Particular skills include: Project development and management. Working within the regulations of the new GDS and PDS contracts. Communication with the dental team. Monitoring of standards and quality measurement. Interests include music, food, travel and family.
