Fairmilehead Dental Practice - Duncan Robertson

About Duncan Robertson
I trained in the Edinburgh Dental Hospital and School and worked in the hospital for four years as a dental surgeon and research fellow and registrar dentist. During this time I treated referred admissions for oral disease and undertook treatment and investigations for these patients. A large part of my research thesis included immunological laboratory work, examining the immunity of patients pre-disposed to oral cancer.
Remaining part time in the dental hospital, I started work in general dental practice in Polwarth and Loanhead before setting up a new practice in Fairmilehead in 1993.
It was only by setting up my own dental practice that I was able to establish the best standard of care I could deliver during my professional life.
Since then I have dedicated myself to delivering my very best dental care and have surrounded myself with staff whom I have trained to help me achieve that goal. I value enormously the fact that they have followed my vision and worked loyally alongside me.
I expanded the practice to our new location at 6 Oxgangs Road in 2003. The new building allowed us to meet the best standards of current dental care and to offer greater dental education and hygiene for the maintenance of my patients’ dental health.
My post graduate education and training has been, and continues to be, extensive and allows me to offer my patients the full range of dental treatment options currently available. I now play an active role in the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in promoting high standards of clinical care for dental surgeons in general dental practice.
My special interests are focused on implant and natural tooth restorative harmony. I use the technological advances in implant co-axis design to minimise the surgical trauma for my patients and maximize the outcome.
