About David Preiss

David Preiss is a dentist with over thirty-five years experience. He has worked in private practice since 1972 maintaining the highest standards of work, patient care and cross infection control in his practice. Dr Preiss provides a full range of services to patients of all ages; hygiene and preventative treatments, cosmetic dentistry, implants, full reconstructions, tooth whitening and TMJ therapy. Dr Preiss is acknowledged by the dental industry to give the highest quality of care to his patients whether their needs are basic or complex. Dr Preiss has continued to ensure that he is at the forefront of the latest techniques, with completion of many courses around the world. His team of experienced staff are given regular internal training, and attend external courses in the UK and abroad to ensure that they offer an up-to-date high quality service. Having graduated from Manchester University in 1969, David worked in the Manchester Hospital and Manchester Royal Infirmary as a house officer. He subsequently moved to London to continue in general practice until 1972. He opened his current practice in Hampstead, London in 1979. Dr Preiss worked in University College Hospital in the periodontal department for twelve years, looking after patients with gum problems and teaching students. During this period he developed a close and rewarding relationship with the team at the hospital. Periodontology remains an area of special interest to Dr Preiss. In 1993, Dr Preiss gained his Diploma in General Dental Practice from the Royal College of Surgeons. He has also completed many courses in the USA covering a wide range of techniques including courses at the Pankey Institute, Florida, which specializes in advanced dental procedure and occlusion. Dr Preiss finds cosmetic dentistry and treating TMJ problems very stimulating and rewarding. He became a member of the American Equilibration Society, whose members specialize in occlusion, TMJ and reconstructive dentistry. Dr Preiss has attended numerous courses on implants in Sweden, a country that has lead the development of dental implant techniques. Implants are a proven restorative option with over forty years of successful clinical history. Branemark implant surgery is carried out in his Hampstead practice by Professor Jan Hirsch, head of Maxillofacial surgical unit in Uppsala University, Sweden. Dr Preiss and Professor Hirsch have been working very closely since 1989, during which time they have placed more than 330 osseointegrated dental implants. Dr Preiss also works very closely with the top UK laboratory, LAB 39 who are located in Harley Street, London. Dr Preiss and the highly skilled technicians have together treated many advance temporo-mandibular joint cases over the past twenty years and have provided advanced crown and bridge work to many satisfied patients.
