Hob Hey Dental Centre - David Baker

About David Baker
I graduated from Liverpool Dental School with Honours in 2004 having won the Malcolm Foster Medal for an Endodontic Elective, the Srivastava Prize and the General Dental Council Prize for Professionalism. I undertook General Professional Training and worked both in General Practice and then as a Senior House Officer in Dental Surgery at Liverpool Dental Hospital. I then joined a Practice in St Helens where I worked for 7 years.
Up until fairly recently I taught part time at UCLAN Dental School and I have been involved in teaching to post graduate Dental Students.
I completed my Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2011. I was lucky enough to spend some time in America learning from some of the world's best root canal specialists. In 2013 I completed my Masters Degree in Endodontology (Root Canal Treatment) having achieved Distinctions in the first two years including Distinction for my presented Clinical Cases and a Merit for my dissertation. I currently receive referrals from local Dentists for Root Canal Treatment, which is all carried out under a Microscope utilising the latest and most effective techniques. I enjoy the challenges of Root Canal Treatment and providing this care in a relaxed and patient friendly way. In 2014 I was invited to Maillefer Dentsply in Switzerland where I became a certified Trainer for Denstply to teach other Dentists root canal treatment. I have also recently been asked to assist with Teaching Endodontics on a very special course but for now it is quite top secret!! In December 2014 I was a Finalist in the FMC Dentistry Awards for the Best Young Dentist in the UK.
I joined Hob Hey Dental Centre in August 2013. Away from teeth I live in Newton-Le-Willows with my Wife Emma, who is also a Dentist, and our 2 little girls Heidi (4) and Daisy (1). When I get chance I enjoy football, boxing and Top Gear. I work Monday to Thursday.
