The Square Advanced Dental Care - Carly Taylor

About Carly Taylor
Having qualified from Manchester University in 2004, Carly spent several years working in general and private practice, before returning in 2008 to teach dental students on a part time basis.
In 2010 Carly became a Clinical Lecturer and Hon. Specialty Registrar and commenced her academic specialist training in restorative dentistry, which is due to finish in June 2017. During this time she has completed a Masters degree in fixed and removable prosthodontics with distinction, published over 15 articles in peer reviewed journals and co-authored two book chapters relating to restorative dentistry. Carly also reviews articles for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
Carly is year 3 lead for the undergraduate dental programme at Manchester Dental School and academic lead for the operative dentistry and fixed prosthodontics clinical skills courses.
Carly has a strong interest in teaching and is currently completing her PhD exploring professionalism in dental education. This includes investigating patient’s perceptions of professionalism in dentistry. She teaches all years of undergraduate dental students, in addition to postgraduate prosthodontics students, both in clinical and research activities.
Although Carly undertakes all aspects of restorative dentistry, her main interests lie within prosthodontics, particularly removable prosthodontics, restoration of implants and toothwear.
Carly is due to start a yearlong Fellowship in Maxillofacial Prosthodontics in April 2017, which is devoted purely to the rehabilitation of head and neck cancer patients in both Manchester and Liverpool.
In her spare time, Carly enjoys running, Pilates and discovering new music.
