About Andrew Shelton
After completing his undergraduate dental training in Newcastle in 2001 Andrew progressed through vocational training and general professional training before embarking on two and half years of maxillofacial surgery training, prior to starting his specialist orthodontic training in 2006.
Andrew completed his specialist orthodontic training in the Yorkshire region in 2009, following international experience, winning the only British Orthodontic Society Medal for excellence in clinical treatment in that year. In 2011 he qualified as an Orthodontic Consultant. He also currently sits on the editorial board of the Orthodontic Update journal.
Andrew holds a part-time consultant position at Montagu Hospital, Mexborough where he is involved in complex treatments, teaching and research. Andrew has interests in all areas of orthodontics, including with a special interest in aesthetic and lingual appliance systems.
When he is not spending time with his young family, Andrew continues to enjoy his lifelong passion of football and winter sports, although his failing knees are pointing him towards the golf course. His knees, however, have held up recently for him to complete numerous 100km non-stop races across the national parks.
