About Aleksandra Rozwadowska

Aleksandra joined the practice part-time in December 2012. She qualified from Cardiff University in 2008 and has since enthusiastically pursued further post-graduate studies. Ala travels to Seattle USA to study at The Kois Center 'Advancing Dentistry through Science'. Aleksandra was born locally and grew up with dentistry in the family. Her mother is a dentist in Cheltenham, which is where she works for the rest of the week. Aleksandra says: “I love being a dentist. “It really is the best job in the world. I love the mixture of science in the materials, the engineering concepts behind making solutions that work properly and the art of making my work look as natural as I can. “Most of all, I love meeting people and building strong relationships with them, so that I can understand what my patients want from their dental care. This means that I can make sure that whatever work we are doing, we are moving towards reaching the same long-term dental goals. “I love that sometimes I have the opportunity to make a huge difference to a person’s quality of life, and I like making the simple dentistry that I do every day as pain-free, hassle free and as pleasant I can. The feedback that I get from my patients keeps me going and makes me strive to be as good as I can be. “I really enjoy working in an environment where the values and beliefs I have about treating patients with respect and providing them with the best possible experience is the core principle of the whole team, and is evident in everything that they do. “I am currently studying for a Masters degree in restorative dentistry, which is helping me to take each aspect of what I do every day and aiming to make it brilliant. I try to make sure all the courses I do are focused around my patients’ needs, so that they will feel the benefit of the new techniques I am always learning. “When I qualified as a dentist from Cardiff in 2008, I worked in Bristol for a year, then moved to New Zealand, where I practiced in two very different private practices, under the guidance of two dentists that I very much respected and admired. I also explored New Zealand at the weekends and during holidays – my husband Adam and I surfed, windsurfed, mountain biked, horse rode and travelled around the whole of both islands in the two years we spent there. We now have a campervan which we use at the weekends to explore the UK and we try to spend as many weekends as possible in our ‘holiday home on wheels’.”
